Bradley International Airport is joining the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to help promote an important deadline that is now less than a year away.
On May 7, 2025, U.S. travelers who use their driver’s license as a form of identification to board a domestic flight will need to make sure they have a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or an alternate form of acceptable identification, such as a passport. The REAL ID driver’s license and identification card have a small star in the upper right corner to indicate that individual meets federal regulations that establish minimum security. In addition to boarding a flight, a REAL ID will also be required to enter certain federal facilities.
On May 23, Bradley International Airport, the TSA and DMV held a news conference to promote the upcoming deadline, what it means for travelers, how to apply for a REAL ID and the processing time prior to delivery.
