Reconstruction of Runway at Waterbury-Oxford Airport Underway

The CAA is in the final stages of a comprehensive runway reconstruction project at Waterbury-Oxford Airport. The construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

The project includes the total reconstruction of the existing pavement, new taxiway edge lights, new guidance and directional signs, new electrical conductors, new FAA navigation aids, the lowering of an Eversource transmission tower, and new airfield pavement markings. In addition, the Runway 36 and Runway 18 elevation will be raised to correct line of sight deficiencies, as well as address other FAA requirements.

“We’re pleased to be nearing completion on this important project and we thank the community for its patience and support as we complete the final stages,” said CAA Executive Director Kevin A. Dillon, A.A.E.
